a really big tutorial that took too long to post

Its time; an actually helpful post that isn't an advertisement.

_delete_ do all the writing _

the first step in painting this ogre is to undercoat or base-coat the miniature, i did it by hand with a mixed colour but its better to spray paint it. undercoating it is important because otherwise paint would not stick and would crackle off.

now that you have undercoated the model you can begin on painting the skin, i dont think spesific paints are important, in any of this, but i do think that undercoating the model in a dark skin tone is important.
now i put some thinner on my pallet but water is just fine.

i mixed in some pale skin colour with the water until it was a milky consistency
i coated the models skin areas with the mixture.

than i added some red paint to the still wet areas on the lower back and parts of the face and hands.

now i blend the red paint into the wet paint  to give a varied skin tone.

Now i mix some black paint with water to the same constancy as previously mentioned an applied all over the skin. to give depth.

now i use ''dry paint'' to drybrush the skin giving a more callused appearance.

the metallics of a miniature can make or break its appearance.

i simply apply the paint over all metal ares.

now i mix yellow ink and red paint together, it should look like rust.

When it comes to making a miniature pop, its hard to go wrong with blue., like blue jeans, it goes along with pretty much anything, also it will make this mostly brown colour scheme pop.

optional, you can add some rust to make the models overall appearance very moody.
just like the ice weapons, blue is a great colour.

simply a dark blue, applied to the pants area

gradually i build up the blue on the pants were light would fall.

bonus, we van paint the boots.

red and green when mixed together properly make a perfect brown, adding more green or more red makes it warmer or cooler.
we want a warm brown to contrast the cold blues

the blue is a theme in this model.
blue based white
black paint adn water
blue ink
turquise paint applied while still wet

the models is almost complete now, this step is very quick.

DONE BABY!
